Quality of Life?

The article linked below is a great concrete example of the battle for life that we are facing in our nation today. When I read language such as is in this article, about a newborn being too much of an expense to the state, a mother defended for murdering her own son...it just gives me chills. These stories are being played out in Canada and Europe, but the issues are already HERE in America. Even in my small, rural town, located in the heart of the Bible belt, I have heard "Christians" talk flippantly about whether or not a sick or elderly person has any "quality" left in his life, completely ignorant of God's Biblical standard on this all-important issue. I've heard it suggested that we sterilize the ignorant population, and nobody was even offended. SCARY! Truly, our great nation is unique in the care we provide for the sick, and I just pray that Obama isn't successful in bringing this cold, clinical, heartless standard of "efficiency" to our compassionate health care system.

You will like the 99 balloons video if you have not seen it already. It is about a child with a known defect before birth being allowed to live.

If one would take a tour through history then it would become clear that we are blessed with many beautiful things, full of genius, from those that society today would not deem worthy to live.
