Life Unworthy of Life?
I wanted to share this article from the "End of the American Dream" blog (which, by the way, I highly recommend). The topic of elderly euthanasia is close to my heart for many reasons, and I rarely speak on the topic of abortion that I don't bring in the close connection to this. In case you think it's something in the mystical future of our country, please know that it is already here, and has been a part of our society for quite some time. Now, it's mainstream. Soon, it will be the law of the land. Perhaps we will have mobile euthanasia squads like the Netherlands in the near future.
One reason I believe that the topic of euthanasia, or "good death" is so close to my heart, is because of a college interim course I took on the Holocaust when I was just 19 years old. It was almost brutal the way the professor immersed us for 30 days in the horrors of the Holocaust (and I now question the wisdom of that), and I was forever changed in the way I view both humanity and the human heart and its capacity for evil. What most people do not know about the Holocaust, is that it did not start with the Jews. In fact, it ended with the Jews. It started with the Germans.
That's right. Germans. Sick Germans. Elderly Germans. Handicapped Germans. Mentally retarded Germans. "Inferior" Germans. Hitler enacted a policy of "Lebensunwertes Leben", or "Life Unworthy of Life".

The euthanasia program began well before World War II, and it started with the same Eugenics brainwashing propaganda that Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger, was spewing out here in the U.S. It began with forced sterilizations of the deaf and mentally handicapped, and then progressed to the outright murder. When the inherent value of humans as Image-bearers of God is denied, there is no stopping the death mentality. In America, it begins with abortion and progresses to Obama's death panels. Francis Schaeffer and C. Everett Koop warned of this in the 1970s, and everyone thought they were crazy. Sadly, they have been proven exactly correct.
What is really scary, is that in America, Christians are the new Jews. What I mean is, that Hitler targeted the Jewish people and characterized them as inferior. Today, the elitists are characterizing Christians in the same manner, and Christianity is being criminalized with unnecessary hate crimes laws. We're even being called domestic terrorists by the government!

40 Days of Prayer to Molech
Planned Parenthood just recently (April 27) completed a "40 Days of Prayer Supporting Women Everywhere". The audacity, irreverence, and rebellion of these abortion providers is just overwhelming to me. My only commentary would be to read Romans 1:18-32 from the Authorized King James Bible.

Memorial for the Unborn
However, I was so excited about some recent information we discovered about abortion statistics in Polk county, that I just had to share! Life Matters Outreach is the crisis pregnancy center that I started in 2001. It's been a labor of love on my part, and a huge teaching opportunity between me and the Lord, as He has taught me to trust Him and put my family FIRST, and not let my ambitions get the best of me. Our center is small, but we've always tried to glorify God in the little things. No child has ever been taken to a daycare center while his mother came to LMO to council, we've stuck to the King James Bible, and we've patiently waited on the Lord to send volunteers to us rather than aggressively "recruiting" them.
It's been hard on me in recent years with my growing family and the responsibility of homeschooling. I've given up going to LMO on a weekly basis, however, I do a lot of work from home (usually in the wee hours of the night). This isn't quite as rewarding as seeing firsthand results while counciling regularly, and yet I was so excited to see the decline in abortion rate in our county. I just had to take a moment on my personal blog journal here and give God the glory for what He's done through LMO.
This is part of an annual Memorial for the Unborn that the Polk County Christian Coalition organizes every year. They always ask for me to come and give a report for our center.
(Note about quality of video: My amateur camera girl, 11 years old, takes great pictures but hasn't quite mastered video. You might want to take a swig of Emetrol before watching this if you're prone to motion sickness. She also cut off about the first 30 seconds. In all fairness, the wind was blowing WILDLY that day, as you can see from the hair in my mouth LOL. I wasn't about to let go of my paper to remove that hair, because I knew my paper would be across the road in no time! FYI, this is on the court house steps downtown.)

I Miss President Reagan
In memory of the "Challenger 7", who tragically lost their lives 25 years ago today, I'm going to post this speech made by President Ronald Reagan. It's funny how well I remember this speech. I was barely 11 years old, but I was truly shaken up by this tragedy, and I remember what a comfort it was to have our leader speak so sincerely, and to truly believe that he was as upset as we all were.

Now, compare this to the Usurper in Chief giving a "shout out" to Dr. Joe Medicine Crow in his first public address after the Fort Hood Massacre. We just had a huge military slaughter by a Muslim jihadist on our own soil, and he waits a full two minutes before he even gets around to mentioning it.

There is a comparison here that begs to be made! Since some people apparently have the nerve to "liken" the two, I'd like to point out 1 (of hundreds) major difference that has a direct bearing on the events of this past week. Ronald Reagan was a man who respected life. Please take a moment to read his Personhood Proclamation made on Sanctity of Human Life Day in 1988:

Now, for the sake of comparison, here is Obama's Declaration given, NOT in honor of Sanctity of Human Life day, but in honor of the murderous and un-Constitutional Roe vs. Wade decision:

Should a pro-life stand be a "litmus" for you personally as you consider for whom you should cast your vote? Absolutely!! Your respect, or lack of respect, for life affects every decision you make! If you read the full text of President Reagan's proclamation, he goes on to mention the sick, elderly, and infirmed. It's hard to believe that in just 20 years, our nation went from Sanctity of Life Proclamations to death panels. History has proven President Reagan's words to be true:
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

It's Going to the Dogs!
Years ago, Jason preached a message entitled "Kissing Dogs and Killing Babies". (I wish I had the audio to upload!) Jason's message was about the warped view of children and family that prevails today, how so many people bypass God's design for marriage and children and are content to raise dogs and "shack up" as the old timer's used to call it. He preached on how if someone loses a dog they post bulletins all over town, but they don't think twice about aborting their own babies.
As I've watched President B.O. kiss up to the sodomites, and declare all out bloody war against little unborn babies, that message has come to mind many times. This will surely be the death of America. Listen as our nation's elected leader gives a "shout out" to all the queers at a special reception that he actually hosted (again) at the White House in honor of him declaring June to be LGBT Pride Month. It raises the hair on the back of your neck to hear the cries and wails of Sodom in the background, praising and worshiping our morally destitute leader. (This video actually cuts off about 3 minutes of shouting before he begins to speak. I've heard an audio version that included more of the beginning.)
I just hope I can pass along to my children and this generation that it wasn't always this way. Certainly our Founding Fathers didn't bow down to them. George Washington expelled one from his army, actually had him drummed out of the camp in disgrace. Thomas Jefferson wrote a law penalizing "buggery" as he called it with castration (now there's a solution!). Here's a great article by David Barton at Wallbuilders that shows just how extremely repugnant this sin, that was too horrible for Founding Father James Wilson (signer of Dec. of Independence, Constitution, and an original Supreme Court justice) to even name, was viewed in early Christian America.

Certainly this Scripture unequivocally condemns this crime, but there are also many other places in Scripture that it is named. (If you read from the NIV, don't be surprised if yours only condemns temple prostitutes. Click this link and you'll see there's a mighty good reason for that. Wow, what a busy time we've had at our house these past couple weeks. I won't bore you with all the details, but here's a brief summary: Baby Bottle Change Drive, Homeschool Recital, Urgent Care (x4), Emergency Room (x2), adult-onset asthma, MRSA, Mother's Day, wireless router down (gasp!), non-profit tax return, LMO newsletter and brochure printing.......
All this, and I still managed to keep myself and Jason and all 5 children fed, clothed, relatively clean, and relatively happy through it all! Whew! I can't truly say that we got a whole lot of school lessons done, although we learned a lot about working together and also how to prioritise. I'm so thankful for my children, who aren't spoiled and self-centered, but who pitch in and keep the house running and help with the baby when I am sick or have obligations to fulfill with the crisis pregnancy center. By occasionally sharing their Mom with LMO, they are making their own contributions to the fight against abortion, and I admire them for that.
Below are a few snapshots from this past weekend. Our local Baptist homeschool group met for a little family night recital and fellowship. I included a video of Caleb and Madelyn playing a duet. We have laughed and laughed at Madelyn dancing on the piano stool!

235 Years Ago
It was bad enough that they had to take the Lord's Day and make such a mockery out of it with all the hoopla about "Health Care" and the vote. And I haven't forgotten that the Senate did this same thing on Christmas Eve. So now, how ironic that Obamanation chose today, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, to sign his act of treachery into "law". (Can a law that contradicts the law be rightly called "law"? I refuse to call it The Health Care Bill, but instead the government takeover of 1/6 of the U.S. economy, or socialized medicine.) Anyway....
It was on this day, 235 years ago, that Founding Father Patrick Henry gave his inspiring "Give me liberty, or give me death!" speech to the Virginia House of Burgesses, convincing them to send troops from Virginia to fight in the cause of liberty.
Barack Obama didn't grow up in America, and obviously feels no allegiance to our history or our laws. (And WHO KNOWS WHERE he was born?!) However, most of the 219 Congressman who voted for this legislation, as well as the 60 Senators, have grown up enjoying the very liberties that they now seek to snatch from us. Shame on them for trampling over the blood that was spilled by our forefathers. They leave guilty and bloody tracks as they so pridefully march toward this brave new world. Not to mention the blood of unborn babies that is dripping from their hands as they try to force God-fearing Americans to pay for murder (as if we didn't already pay for Planned Parenthood's mischief...anyway....).
Our Founding Fathers were patriots who lived by ideals and placed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors on the line for principle. What we have today is a Congress full of empty-headed and empty-hearted, self-serving politicians. Having said that, I must thankfully acknowledge that there are a few conservative, Constitutionalists in the halls of Congress, but they are very lonely up there in Washington. Come November, we don't need to elect Republicans. We need to elect Constitutionalists!
I found this inspiring recitation of Patrick Henry's speech at a Tea Party event on You Tube. In light of all that I've had to absorb through the weekend, it made me feel better to hear this. Maybe you'll enjoy it too.

Government 101
Here's a great explanation of why we must fight tooth and nail to preserve our unique form of government, which is a Constitutional Republic (NOT a democracy!!). Most people don't even have a clue what our government is actually called, much less the importance of not surrendering our liberties to the tyranny of the urgent. Our founding fathers were not only brilliant in mind, but they also had a firm understanding of history and Scripture. They were heavily influenced by the writings of Samuel Rutherford and his book Lex Rex, Latin for "Law is King". The King is not Law, but instead the Law is higher than the King. The Law is not just a bunch of man-made rules, but it is inspired by and consistent with the character and nature of Almighty God. We have a right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness because God has granted this to His creation, not because our government grants it to us. God established government and gave it the sword simply to protect the innocent and restrain evil (Romans 13). The moment we begin to think that our rights come from our government, those rights are in serious jeopardy. If government gave them to us, government could take them away. However, our right to freedom comes from Above, and we must stand against any self-deluded tyrant who places himself on such a pedestal!!
