It was bad enough that they had to take the Lord's Day and make such a mockery out of it with all the hoopla about "Health Care" and the vote. And I haven't forgotten that the Senate did this same thing on Christmas Eve. So now, how ironic that Obamanation chose today, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, to sign his act of treachery into "law". (Can a law that contradicts the law be rightly called "law"? I refuse to call it The Health Care Bill, but instead the government takeover of 1/6 of the U.S. economy, or socialized medicine.) Anyway....
It was on this day, 235 years ago, that Founding Father Patrick Henry gave his inspiring "Give me liberty, or give me death!" speech to the Virginia House of Burgesses, convincing them to send troops from Virginia to fight in the cause of liberty.
Barack Obama didn't grow up in America, and obviously feels no allegiance to our history or our laws. (And WHO KNOWS WHERE he was born?!) However, most of the 219 Congressman who voted for this legislation, as well as the 60 Senators, have grown up enjoying the very liberties that they now seek to snatch from us. Shame on them for trampling over the blood that was spilled by our forefathers. They leave guilty and bloody tracks as they so pridefully march toward this brave new world. Not to mention the blood of unborn babies that is dripping from their hands as they try to force God-fearing Americans to pay for murder (as if we didn't already pay for Planned Parenthood's mischief...anyway....).
Our Founding Fathers were patriots who lived by ideals and placed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors on the line for principle. What we have today is a Congress full of empty-headed and empty-hearted, self-serving politicians. Having said that, I must thankfully acknowledge that there are a few conservative, Constitutionalists in the halls of Congress, but they are very lonely up there in Washington. Come November, we don't need to elect Republicans. We need to elect Constitutionalists!
I found this inspiring recitation of Patrick Henry's speech at a Tea Party event on You Tube. In light of all that I've had to absorb through the weekend, it made me feel better to hear this. Maybe you'll enjoy it too.
