You Either Love Him, Or You Don't Understand Him
Today is the birthday of possibly the most loved (by patriots) and most hated (by politicians) man in our modern U.S. history, Dr. Ron Paul.
The one and only "politician" who has been 100% consistent throughout his career, whether it's running a wildly successful OB/GYN practice (personally delivering 4,000 babies) while not accepting MedicAid, to refusing a government pension and returning his Congressional budget balance to the treasury each year. Ron Paul has been a lone voice in heralding Christian principles such as

- just war; non-interventionism (PLEASE, PEOPLE, DON'T CALL HIM A PACIFIST. HE SERVED IN THE U.S. AIR FORCE AS WELL AS THE NATIONAL GUARD. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE. LOOK IT UP)
- limited government that doesn't regulate the righteous, but instead only restrains the wicked (I Tim. 1:9; Romans 13:3)
- the sanctity of human life
- marriage as a sacred institution, not a government institution
- The Golden Rule (spoken by Jesus originally, not Ron Paul!) as foreign policy
Ron Paul has reminded us all of what made America great.

The Colossal, Monstrous, Gluttonous, Ineffective, Worthless Machine Called Government Bureaucracy
When government steps beyond its bounds of protecting the life, liberty, and property of its citizens, it is always, I repeat....ALWAYS....an expensive boondoggle of a disaster.
Take, for example, education. It's no secret that I homeschool, and I believe that homeschooling is the safest and most effective way to educate children, especially Christian children. That does NOT mean that I am critical or skeptical of other Christian parents who make different choices. Not only that, I truly believe that there was a time when "public education" was a good thing for the children and the community. That was back when it was truly "public" education and not "government" education. Back in the old days, the town chose the teacher, the textbooks, the schedule, and the graduation requirements for their own children. They had a vested interest in the decisions they made because they loved the children whom these decisions affected.
Enter "Clown in Chief" President Jimmy Carter. [The reason Carter loves Obama so much is because now Carter is no longer labeled the absolute worst President in history] In 1979, he created an illegal, unconstitutional Cabinet department called the Department of Education (along with the illegal Department of Energy). This federal bureaucracy has about 5,000 employees. Parents have no say-so in who is hired. The President is free to pack this department with pedophiles, abortionists, homosexuals, and educated idiots who could probably tell you more about Lady Gaga than George Washington. (I so wish I was making this stuff up, but if you don't believe me, read it for yourself.) Half of them probably don't even have children, much less have any interest whatsoever in YOUR children. Their goal is the "common good". So when they tell you that your child is reading "below level", that may or may not mean that your child has difficulty reading. It may mean that he is perfectly capable of reading classic literature, worthwhile publications, and quite able to function in society and interpret information for himself. Oh, horror of horrors.....A CHILD WHO CAN THINK FOR HIMSELF! This could not benefit the greater good of society!
We need tests. Standardized tests. So that everyone is on the same level. Equal. United. For the common good. Instead of reading books written by individual, passionate authors, we'll give them pre-digested, abridged excerpts determined by a hired committee, and then see if we can train the kids to answer "comprehension" questions. Then we'll rate the kids, and we'll also rate the teachers on how well the kids do on the tests. So, Mrs. Smith has to lay aside her passion for imparting knowledge and teach kids how to pass government tests, and Johnny has to put down his awesome book and stop learning in order to be trained. What a disaster!
Someone shared this article on FB the other day, and I thought it was just awesome.
It's about a highly educated and successful businessman, member of a School Board, who decided to take the same tests required by local 10th graders. His brave and honest assessment of the process has changed the way he views this whole standardized test racket. Be sure and also read the linked update that is at the top of the article. I think this incident proves everything that homeschoolers and conservatives have been saying for years: Government makes poor parents! The idea that a massive bureaucracy, located hundreds of miles away from the target, spending other people's money, with no vested interest in the little souls they direct, could ever be effective is just ludicrous thinking!

A Day Which Will Live In Infamy
I'm posting this video today in honor and in memory of all the Pearl Harbor veterans. 2,390 Americans (including many civilians) died on that Sunday morning attack 70 years ago.
This video has an interesting perspective from one of the survivors (who also served later in the Korean War), about the U.S. "minding our own business". I'm not a pacifist, but I am a non-interventionist, just like our first President George Washington. When Pearl Harbor was attacked, America rightfully retaliated and joined World War II to directly defend its territorial borders, ending 4 years later with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
10 years after 9/11, our soldiers are being sent here and yonder, with no clear strategy and not even a clearly defined enemy. It's past time to bring them home. There will never be a successful democratic government set up in Iraq. They've fought for 4,000 years and like it that way. Our troops should be here, defending our borders against illegal immigrants!
God bless our troops, and I pray that 2012 will bring a President who understands the dangers of trying to police the world.

Marxism vs. Christianity
I would like to share some of the notes from the Christian Worldview Class I'm teaching right now. Francis Schaeffer called Marxism a Christian heresy because it takes Biblical ideals like equality, peace, sharing, and giving to the poor, and twists these ideals to form a tyrannical government that is actually the complete opposite of Biblical Christianity. It's never been more relevant to freedom-loving Americans!

The Forgotten Man
I did a blog post several months ago about artist Jon McNaughton's amazing painting, "One Nation Under God".

235 Years Ago
It was bad enough that they had to take the Lord's Day and make such a mockery out of it with all the hoopla about "Health Care" and the vote. And I haven't forgotten that the Senate did this same thing on Christmas Eve. So now, how ironic that Obamanation chose today, Tuesday, March 23, 2010, to sign his act of treachery into "law". (Can a law that contradicts the law be rightly called "law"? I refuse to call it The Health Care Bill, but instead the government takeover of 1/6 of the U.S. economy, or socialized medicine.) Anyway....
It was on this day, 235 years ago, that Founding Father Patrick Henry gave his inspiring "Give me liberty, or give me death!" speech to the Virginia House of Burgesses, convincing them to send troops from Virginia to fight in the cause of liberty.
Barack Obama didn't grow up in America, and obviously feels no allegiance to our history or our laws. (And WHO KNOWS WHERE he was born?!) However, most of the 219 Congressman who voted for this legislation, as well as the 60 Senators, have grown up enjoying the very liberties that they now seek to snatch from us. Shame on them for trampling over the blood that was spilled by our forefathers. They leave guilty and bloody tracks as they so pridefully march toward this brave new world. Not to mention the blood of unborn babies that is dripping from their hands as they try to force God-fearing Americans to pay for murder (as if we didn't already pay for Planned Parenthood's mischief...anyway....).
Our Founding Fathers were patriots who lived by ideals and placed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors on the line for principle. What we have today is a Congress full of empty-headed and empty-hearted, self-serving politicians. Having said that, I must thankfully acknowledge that there are a few conservative, Constitutionalists in the halls of Congress, but they are very lonely up there in Washington. Come November, we don't need to elect Republicans. We need to elect Constitutionalists!
I found this inspiring recitation of Patrick Henry's speech at a Tea Party event on You Tube. In light of all that I've had to absorb through the weekend, it made me feel better to hear this. Maybe you'll enjoy it too.

Legalize the Constitution!
Anyone who's ever read the U.S. Constitution knows that any version of the proposed Health Care Legislation is absolutely out of bounds of the powers granted to the federal government by the states. (We seem to have forgotten that the states created the federal government; not the federal government the states!) Government 101
Here's a great explanation of why we must fight tooth and nail to preserve our unique form of government, which is a Constitutional Republic (NOT a democracy!!). Most people don't even have a clue what our government is actually called, much less the importance of not surrendering our liberties to the tyranny of the urgent. Our founding fathers were not only brilliant in mind, but they also had a firm understanding of history and Scripture. They were heavily influenced by the writings of Samuel Rutherford and his book Lex Rex, Latin for "Law is King". The King is not Law, but instead the Law is higher than the King. The Law is not just a bunch of man-made rules, but it is inspired by and consistent with the character and nature of Almighty God. We have a right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness because God has granted this to His creation, not because our government grants it to us. God established government and gave it the sword simply to protect the innocent and restrain evil (Romans 13). The moment we begin to think that our rights come from our government, those rights are in serious jeopardy. If government gave them to us, government could take them away. However, our right to freedom comes from Above, and we must stand against any self-deluded tyrant who places himself on such a pedestal!!

New Preamble
NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION:
The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA.
'We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.'
ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you rot in jail.
ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.
ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)
ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.
ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly....)
ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

A Chilling Article
Investors.com - Service.gov And Its Soviet Similarities
Please take time to read this article above. It was written by a woman who was born and raised in Soviet Russia, and immigrated to America in 1980. This is an editorial she wrote as a warning to all free citizens of the U.S.
I just finished reading "East Wind", the autobiography of Maria Zeitner Linke, about her life growing up under the heavy hand of Russian communism. In addition to having her parents snatched away periodically for state service (once taking her mother for 6 long months to dig ditches, leaving her as a 9-10 year old child to care for her 2 young sisters, one of whom was only 4 months old; the baby died before her mother returned), having her father's factory confiscated for the state, relocated so many times it was hard to keep count, having her beloved brother kidnapped for service in the Red Army (they never saw him again)....as if this wasn't bad enough, she also spent 9 years in Stalin's Gulags. I've studied a lot about Hitler and the Holocaust, but this book truly opened my eyes to the evils of Communism. I believe there are few people who realize how many millions of people have died at its cruel hand. Stalin, alone, is estimated to have murdered more than 20 million of his own people (this is the conservative number! no one truly knows but the Lord).
With this book so fresh in my mind, reading the article linked above just sends chills up my spine. How did America come to this on our watch? With a marvelous, ingenius Constitution that has a remarkable Bill of Rights attached to it....how? Who would want to trade the privileges and freedoms that we enjoy for the death and tears that ALWAYS accompany communism? IF YOU WANT SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE, MOVE TO CUBA! But don't come in and highjack our country!

The Real Trouble
The article below, written by genius Tom DeWeese and published by Campaign for Liberty, is a very important article. I know a lot of people who "don't like" Barack Hussein Obama; I don't either. But not liking somebody is a personal issue and says as much about the person who "doesn't like" as it does about the person who receives the dislike. This issue runs much deeper than simply disliking someone because he is foreign and different, or because he's on the other side of the aisle on ALL moral issues. It is much more serious than most people have ever dared to imagine. Obama is part of a long-planned evolving revolution to change the United States from a capitalist nation to a communist nation. You should be very afraid, and you should be outraged. This article is a great way to begin educating yourself on just what is happening to America; not just nationally but locally as well!

Brannon Howse and Glenn Beck have been bringing these issues into the light for several months now (I listen to Brannon's broadcast daily free on iTunes.), and of course Ron Paul has been warning Americans for years on these issues.
We can't defeat our enemy is we don't even recognize him!

It Ain't No Mo'!
Well, we're here. The inmates are running the asylum. Not only are they in charge, but they have badges to prove it! Welcome to the U.S.S.A.
While I do totally believe that Officer Cheeks is a complete disgrace to his badge and oath of office, um...he may have a point. In the old U.S.A., it was considered free speech to boo a sitting President:
Now, in the new Amerika, when a so-called "heckler" calls out the Commandant in public, it draws cries of censure!
I keep hearing all these remarks like, "Well, that wasn't the time or the place..." Two things need to be pointed out: First of all, President Bush was booed only for having a disagreeable position , and it was DURING HIS CONSTITUTIONALLY APPROPRIATED annual State of the Union Address; whereas, Congressman Wilson was setting the record straight for Americans (since this would be their only chance to hear it on ABC, NBC, or CBS, MSNBC, or CNN) during what could easily be considered an abuse of power by the President in calling an emergency joint session of Congress for no other reason than to promote his own personal politics. I'm sure all the democrats were glad to get back to Congress and away from the town hall meetings, but no doubt Congressman Wilson had other things he'd rather be doing. I applaud his courage!
Our beloved country might be changing, but there are enough red, white, and blue Americans who will not "go gently into that good night".
